Tues 24th	Woolston Beer Festival Planning Meeting – 8pm South Western Arms. Could you lend a hand?
Mon 30th	Itchen Navigation Pub Walk – An annual stroll along the old Itchen Navigation tow path calling in on a few pubs on the way. Depart from Woodmill Bridge, Southampton at 9:30am, reaching The Black Boy, Winchester around 2:30pm. Usually a pub or two more then a curry. Sat 18th	Irving Brewery Trip – To present Winchester Real Ale and Cider Festival "Beer of the Festival" to Irving Brewery for Captain B. Departing Eastleigh Train Station by minibus/coach at 1.30pm. Arriving at Brewery approx 2.00pm. Departing brewery at 4.00pm. Arriving back at Eastleigh for 4.30pm. Cost £5 per person. Please contact Drew Dyer for more info. Sat 25th	Pub of the Year 2011 Presentation - Wheatsheaf Inn, Shedfield – 2:30pm. We shall be formally presenting our Pub of the Year 2011 award to the Wheatsheaf Inn (Botley Road, Shedfield, SO32 2JG). No transport will be organised, as it is easy to get there by train and/or bus. The suggested route is from Southampton to Fareham by train and then catch the hourly Stagecoach 69 bus to Shedfield Crossroads (click here for timetable). The suggested bus from Fareham is the 13:15 (arr. 13:39). Those wishing to eat lunch at the Wheatsheaf should get the bus an hour earlier. If you plan to eat lunch at the Wheatsheaf, please email Alex to let him know so that he can help the Wheatsheaf Inn cater for the correct numbers.

Mon 29th	Annual Informal Cricket knock-about and picnic – Southampton Sports Centre – 12 noon. Meet on the cricket pitch nearest the Dunkirk Road car park, or phone 07974 661637 to find out which pitch we've moved to. All standards welcome – yes we really mean this, no experience necessary. Everyone gets to bat and bowl. If it rains we'll retire somewhere dry for the picnic. Please contact Ian for this event.

October 2011
Fri 7th - Sat 8th	Woolston Beer Festival. The second Woolston Beer Festival, following on from last year's very successful debut. Tickets are sold out.
Tues 11th	Branch Meeting – Obelisk Hotel, Woolston, Southampton – 8pm prompt start.
Wed 12th	Minibus Trip to Frome and Milk Street Brewery – Various pickups from 10:15am. A CAMRA-friendly minibus trip organised by some Southampton Taxi Drivers, costing about £20 plus a donation to Milk Street Brewery for the free beer. Pick-ups: 10:15am Shirley Precinct; 10:25am Tesco Express, Lodge Road; 10:35am Bitterne Precinct. The minibus will visit a couple of country pubs then head on to Frome, Somerset and Milk Street Brewery. The minibus will depart for home at about 9:30pm, arriving back in Southampton at about 11:30pm. Please contact Dave Blake on 07832 231273 for more details.

Sat 22nd	146 Cider visit and apple picking to celebrate Cider and Perry month (not picking as previously advertised) Meet at the 146 Cider HQ in Thornhill Park, Southampton at midday (for details and directions contact Dave Richardson). Places are limited so book now!
Sat 29th	Portsmouth Cider Crawl – organised by the Portsmouth and SE Hants branch, commencing midday at the Isembard Kingdom Brunel, Guildhall Sq for cider and lunch. The aim is to get to as many cider pubs as possible in one day. Everyone is welcome and all the pubs sell real ale too. If you are going to arrive later then call Nigel Firth on 07504 115316 to find out where everyone is.
November 2011
Sat 5th	Bonfire Night Beer & Bangers – Guide Dog, Earls road, Portswood – from 7.30pm. Please let David Richardson know if you are coming for catering numbers.

Sat 26th	London pub Crawl – Experience some of the finest pubs and beers of London. Meet at Southampton Train station Toys R Us entrance 10am, to catch the 10:30 train (Note, this is 30mins earlier than previously planned). Anyone from Eastleigh should catch the 10:21 to Southampton Airport, where our train will leave at 10.38. The train departs Winchester at 10:48. Planned return is 8pm. Please Contact David Richardson to express an interest and to be on the group ticket, to recommend a pub, or if you would like a detailed itinerary in advance.
December 2011
Sun 4th	Ballards Brewery Trip – A visit to Ballards Brewery, Nyewood, West Sussex for the launch of their new 7.4% seasonal beer, then a walk across fields or along roads with about 100 others to some of the local pubs serving Ballards beers. A great annual event. Sorry, Cancelled - not enough support for minibus. The brewery event carries on but you'll need to make your own way there.
Tue 6th	Winchester Beer Festival Planning Meeting – Hyde Tavern, Winchester – 8pm.
Tues 13th	Branch Meeting – Waterloo Arms, Freemantle, Southampton – 8pm prompt start.
Wed 28th	Annual Post-Christmas Social – Wellington Arms, Freemantle, Southampton – from 5pm. Our annual celebration of Christmas (being over!).
